Caterpillar

While looking for frogs, I found this in our yard waste can. My photographer put it on this maypop leaf to take some photos. It seemed a more natural habitat than my nose.

Ants (and larvae)

Pictured above are ant eggs. The black dots you see inside the eggs are actually baby ants. We found these ants and eggs under a stone and took these cool photos.

Yellowjacket

We found this on our back porch one evening. It was too frisky for a good photo, but by the next morning, the cool weather slowed it down. We took some photos before it warmed up and got mad.

Tree Frog

This is a tree frog that I found in our yard waste trash can. (That's where they like to hang out!)

Centipede

I found this centipede under a stone by the water hose. It was clinging to the bottom of the stone, so I missed it at first, but the snakemaster's keen eyes didn't let this liitle beauty get away. I caught it and asked my professional photographer (aka Mom) to take some photos. Isn't she a great photographer?

Centipede "Up Close"

These are photos of the same centipede up close and personal. This last picture is my finger touching the centipede's antenna.

Slug

These two slugs appear to be an adult and baby slug. They were located near the spider listed below.

Toad

I found this toad under a stone in my yard. It is as big as the palm of my hand. Don't you just want to give it a big kiss?

Spider

I found this spider under a stone in our yard. I'm not sure of the name of it yet, but I'll keep looking...

Green Anole

This is a green anole, similar to the brown anoles in the photos below. You can tell the difference between a male and female anole because a male has a flap of skin under the throat called a dewlap. (This dewlap is used to attract females.)

Lizards, lizards, and more lizards!

These are brown anoles. I put sticks and branches in our treehouse to make a lizard playground. We have lots of these in our yard, so they are easy to find.

Cockroach

My brother found this really big cockroach (about 3 in.) in our garage and beckoned the snakemaster to catch it for him, but I was generous enough to allow him to hold it for the photo.

American Goldfinch

This is an American Goldfinch. We shot video of this bird while it was feeding from our birdfeeder.
